Destiny 2: What Weapons Can Roll With Voltshot?

Destiny 2: What Weapons Can Roll With Voltshot?

Voltshot is a Arc weapon perk introduced in Season of Plunder, and it’s absolutely a perk you’ll want to chase down. You can acquire randomly rolled weapons with Voltshot, and obtain patterns to craft weapons with to Enhanced Voltshot if you dedicate enough time to getting the patterns.

What Does Voltshot Do?

Voltshot is a bit of a mix between Kill Clip and Chill Clip: reloading after defeating an enemy with the weapon causes the next hit to apply the Jolt debuff. The weapon’s overcharged state only lasts for a few seconds, or until you land a hit, but you can reload immediately after scoring a kill to refresh the buff. Enemies with Jolt applied to them will chain Arc damage to nearby enemies as they take damage, or when they’re defeated. Think of it like Volatile, but with chaining lightning instead of popping Void explosions.

Which Weapons Can Roll With Voltshot In Season 18?

  • Sailspy Pitchglass
  • Tarnished Mettle
  • Brigand’s Law
  • Mechabre
Sailspy Pitchglass
Destiny 2 – Bungie

The Linear Fusion Rifle Sailspy Pitchglass can roll with an interesting Rapid Hit and Voltshot combo, giving you faster reloads, more stability, and of course chain lightning on ranged hits. I’m not a huge fan of reload-based perks like Kill Clip on LFRs, but if you want to turn your LFR hits into wannabe Cloudstrikes it’s hard to imagine a better perk pairing.

Tarnished Mettle
Destiny 2 – Bungie

Tarnished Mettle offers a ranged option for Voltshot on a Lightweight Frame Scout Rifle. If you love weapons like Nightwatch or Vouchsafe you’ll probably like Tarnished Mettle. Like Sailspy Pitchglass, it can roll with the same great pairing of Rapid Hit and Voltshot for faster reloads and bonus stability. A great option for when Arc Burn and Anti-Barrier Scout come up together.

Brigand's Law
Destiny 2 – Bungie

So far my favorite Voltshot weapon is the Rapid-Fire Frame Brigand’s Law. Originally I was disappointed that Voltshot didn’t roll on an SMG, but I think Brigand’s Law is a very reasonable replacement. What Brigand’s Law lacks in range it makes up for with its lightning fast reload speed, especially when paired with Threat Detector. Again, the key to these weapons is their ability to reload after every kill, so that you’re applying Jolt on every new target.
