Destiny 2: Five Great Craftable PvP Weapons

Destiny 2: Five Great Craftable PvP Weapons
Destiny 2 – Bungie

Season of the Risen and The Witch Queen introduced an excellent line-up of craftable weapons, primarily from four loot pools: Savathun’s Throne World, Vow of the Disciple Raid, Psi Ops, and world drops. A lot of these weapons are fantastic in PvE, including the DPS monster Cataclysmic and the crowd control king Forbearance. Other weapons are strong picks for PvP, like the five weapons we’ll discuss below.

For each of these weapons you’ll need to earn their respective pattern before you can craft them. You’ll need to acquire drops of each weapon that come with the red Deepsight Resonance boarder and complete their objective. Eventually, after completing three or five weapons you’ll unlock that weapon pattern. The number of Deepsight Resonances you’ll need to complete differs for each weapon.

#5 – Ragnhild-D

The newest Aggressive Frame Shotgun in Destiny 2 received a lot of early hype at the start of Witch Queen thanks to an incorrect zoom value. Ragnhild-D still has a lot to offer, especially with its Hakke Breach Armaments Origin Perk. With the extra Barricade damage you can surprise Titans by breaking their cover and leaving them completely exposed to a follow-up shot. Opening Shot is noticeably missing from the perk pool, so your final perk selection really comes down to whether or not you’re playing an Arc subclass. Elemental Capacitor is easily best in slot for Arc, but other subclasses will get more value out of Frenzy.

#4 – Deliverance

The game’s only Stasis Fusion Rifle has access to Chill Clip, but I think most players are probably going to run Deliverance with Tap the Trigger, Harmony, or Successful Warm-Up. That said, Chill Clip is a wild perk once you get enough ammo to start triggering its slow effect. As a precision frame it’s pretty similar to Main Ingredient, so if you’re looking for a Kinetic/Stasis slot version of the game’s most popular Fusion Rifle then I highly recommend getting a few rolls of Deliverance. You can go a bunch of different directions with this weapon, including some super cool PvE builds combining Demolitionist and Adrenaline Junkie, and in PvP you can fully invest into recoil direction and stability to start picking off players at absurd ranges.

#3 – Likely Suspect

Another Fusion Rifle, Likely Suspect is a much faster firing Rapid-Fire frame that comes with the new Successful Warm-Up perk. Stacking kills with Successful Warm-Up drastically reduces your charge time, giving you an extremely fast counter to Shotguns. Firmly planted was recently nerfed, but it’s still the best consistency perk for Likely Suspect. If you’re looking for a new Rapid-Fire frame to replace Null Composure, Cartesian Coordinate, or Zealot’s Reward, then Likely Suspect is most likely your best option.

#2 – Syncopation-53

These days Adaptive Pulse Rifles aren’t terribly competitive in PvP, with most players choosing to to run High Impact or Rapid-Fire frames instead. But if you’re not a fan of the slow-firing The Messenger, and the fast-firing Piece of Mind isn’t your thing, then Syncopation-53 might be a much more comfortable pick. You can easily push the recoil direction to 100 before leaning into stability. With certain enhanced perks you can even go above 90 stability, making Syncopation an extremely easy weapon to land shots with. Triggering Frenzy turns this gun into a two-burst and lets it win gunfights against The Messenger without scoring a kill first.

#1 – Piece of Mind

Currently one of the most popular weapons in Crucible, Piece of Mind is an incredible Kinetic Rapid-Fire Pulse Rifle with an excellent set of perks. Combining Focused Fire and Overflow together gives you more uptime on a major damage buff, while enhanced versions of Perpetual Motion and Elemental Capacitor can push your stability above 80 on a Void subclass. For controller players I highly recommend the above configuration for the most consistent shooting experience, but if you’re planning on running a non-Void subclass I’d drop Elemental Capacitor for Moving Target.

The best part of weapon crafting is the ability to craft your perfect roll. It’s a major time sink, and you’ll need to get lucky with some of these drops, but ultimately you’ll be able to craft any of these weapons in the exact configuration you want. Keep in mind that these suggestions are from my perspective a controller player. 100 recoil direction and high stability might not be priorities for mouse and keyboard players.
